How We Test Our Document Guides
What we publish
FreeWordEditor.com publishes these guides under the site name. It is an independent browser-based DOCX editor for quick text and formatting changes without an account, not Microsoft Word.
Our guides distinguish FreeWordEditor workflows, document and template use cases, and instructions for Microsoft Word. A Word menu instruction is not evidence that the same feature exists in our editor.
The recorded editing example
Our guide to editing Word documents online includes a sample DOCX, before-and-after text and screenshots from the actual browser editor. The sample was edited in FreeWordEditor, and the stored text in the exported DOCX was checked for three replacements, including an existing table-cell edit.
That exported file was not reopened in Microsoft Word. This check does not establish Word rendering, complex-layout preservation or PDF export quality. We do not describe every guide as tested or attach a testing date where none is recorded.
How to read our compatibility notes
A compatibility note explains when instructions belong to another application, when FreeWordEditor supports only part of a workflow, or when exported behaviour has not been verified. Where a guide has recorded first-hand evidence, we describe its actual scope.
Browser behaviour and document rendering can differ across platforms and word processors. Keep the original file and check an exported copy in the application your recipient uses, especially for sections, fields, review history and complex layouts.
Local processing and PDF limits
Document editing and export happen locally in your browser. A working copy can be saved in this site's browser storage; download a separate copy before clearing site data. Local processing does not guarantee complete privacy or security.
FreeWordEditor exports image-based PDF pages. They do not provide searchable or selectable document text, accessibility tagging or PDF/A. A DOCX text check is not a PDF test.
Updates and evidence
We aim to correct guidance when product behaviour changes or an inaccurate claim is identified. The date shown on a guide is its stored update date, not a claim that all its instructions were tested on that day.
An article without a recorded test should be read as guidance, not a verified compatibility result. Instructions for other applications describe those applications rather than a tested FreeWordEditor workflow.
